i dont know why your getting and so pissed off about this thread. ITS Non A DESIGN FLAW! its was developed for piece of cake access. Yes people might exist having problems with it falling out but it was never intended to exist thrown in a bag on its side for for case. Its seems like you never used some other device with a micro sd slot. Asus's design has made it So much easier to remove then any other product. have you used a a500 or the originl transformer or even an android phone. they are crammed in slot where you lot need to remove a encompass to access the menu or jam a 50ft pole downwards into the device to be able to button the card downwards and out. I applaud Asus and i hope this blueprint stays.just go over it
I'll admit information technology's most likely not a flaw and was indeed designed to be how it is, but that does not hateful it is not flawed. Since they're offering the slot, lots of people aren't going to utilise information technology as a "when I need it," and they're not likely going to exist swapping it out. They're going to proceed it in the device permanently (or will try at least) and then that they have a ~64-96 GB tablet.
I actually don't keep a mSD bill of fare in mine because it'southward too accessible, to the point that people have it pop out and disappear, sensitive information and all. Likely I wouldn't have an outcome since I have a minisuit, but it's really a fleck too risky IMO.
People shouldn't be getting pissed at each other because they're different users who accept *gasp* dissimilar uses for their products, only people should also be compassionate and open-minded so that they can sympathize others' points of view.
I love how all u.s.a. non-engineers sit here and gripe about designs and come up up with fixes though

If you hold the device with your hand the card gets ejected.
ASUS had to cheat and insert a "false" sized card when shipping the device whinch means any standard size carte du jour will pop out.
if that isn't a pattern flaw I don't know what it is.
The device has flaws. So what it's non the end of the earth, however denying them makes no sense.

To the OP, that'due south a pretty good idea to wedge it in. Like others, I had to reread the OP a couple times considering I as well thought he was referring to cut off role of the SD card, I was like agree on that might non be such a grand idea lol. The wedge idea, while information technology works, is certainly not effecient and if I am imagining this properly I could come across how it might get jammed up in the device fairly easily. Perhaps some type of diagram or schematic that outlines the fashion in which it would best piece of work to wedge it in. Anyone got some type of schematic on how this would work? I call back that would be really helpful.

I have lost my card twice (luckily to find information technology again since I was indoors both times). Information technology is now sanded at the corner to improve prophylactic.
I wonder if the wedge idea can exist enhanced to go out a section of the wedge protruding behind the card, protecting the card against pressure. I retrieve a simpler solution will merely to exist build up the back of the example with nail varnish or something like. At the moment, I only have an 8GB menu and nothing of value on it (mp3s). If I proceed using the prime, I may well want to expand the storage more - and at some signal might just glue the card in...

I have noticed the plastic card from Asus is virtually a millimeter shorter and curved to lucifer the device. Looks like they assumed we wouldn't exist leaving MicroSD cards in our 64 or 32GB devices.

The wedge might all the same fail.

I take lost my card twice. But have been lucky enough to discover information technology both times. The first time found information technology in my handbag the side by side day after noticeing information technology was GONE.
The second time, I had faced upward to the fact that my 32gb carte was GONE forever. I simply happened to find it a few days later in my car. Notwithstanding dont take a clue how information technology got bumped that time to cause it to popular out.
I at present have a piece of clear record over information technology that I advisedly trimmed. It has even still got bumped enough to disconnect from the reader. But not lost this fourth dimension.
Asus should have built it with a indent area the size of a fingernail. This would allow easy removal and limit the accidental bump for it to shoot out.
It all adds to the feeling that Asus merely rushed this pattern out the door to be the starting time to market with the T3.

I had been thinking electrical tape only that volition go out glutinous residue later a time. 3M clear tape (Scotch) is pretty skilful. A strategically cut piece of clear aircraft tape I am thinking improve but oasis't tried. My clear record certainly isn't clear but the peace of mind outweighs the advent of my Prime. I thought I lost 64GB a while ago. No fun!I think the best is nevertheless to use 3M clear tape and tape information technology over.

same exact matter hither 64 gigabyte thought it was gone... nope information technology was in my carpet thank god the card is red.
I do agree very bad design flaw, asus owes us 1.. who would've e'er thought the sd carte du jour would be a trouble when purchasing it online?
I figured they had thought of everything...
